THE GODS MUST BE SMILING

Never in his wildest dreams had Seeth anna imagined himself in Cardiff. But there he was, meeting his son Manja after many years and for this, they both had only one man to thank — Neil, their guardian angel.Born and raised in the tiny coastal hamlet of Kodali, Manja noticed very early in life the invisible girl inside him. He spent his childhood amidst confusion and humiliation hoping for the girl within him to disappear, but she did not! Unable to subdue his inner self, he decided to let her free, embarking upon an uncertain, yet eventful, journey towards liberation. When his own people abandoned him, Manja found who his real friends were. Seeth anna, despite his dilemma of denial and doubt, fought his inner demons and stood by his son, through the stormy seas of Kodali and the dark, disillusioned crossroads of Bangalore, while Neil buried some unpleasant memories of the past and took Manja under his wings, helping him discover the eluding girl of his childhood. This is a story about the indomitable Manja, his confusions and disillusions. This is a story of an unflinching friend who unlocks one of the most influential women of our generation — Manjula Jyothimala.
